Critical public policy issues will be discussed and debated – among panelists and with the audience – including:
- What problems have impeded the integration of clean energy technologies into our electricity infrastructure?
- What role will the new Congress play in modernizing the nation's electric delivery system?
- What are the challenges that effect long term infrastructure planning and stakeholder collaboration? What successes have been achieved?
- What security mechanisms should be in place to ensure system integrity and reliability?
- What role will energy efficiency play to meet our capacity requirements?
- What collaborative partnerships are needed to achieve the nation's potential for cost-effective demand responses? What are the results of current collaborative efforts?
- How will upcoming EPA emissions regulations impact the electric delivery system infrastructure? In light of Congressional inaction, what are the appropriate approaches that EPA should take as it prepares to regulate pollutants to ensure system reliability is not impeded?
- What collaborative efforts are being deployed to accommodate the integration of innovative technologies?
- What concerns should regulators address related to data privacy, increased costs and the lack of perceived benefits from smart grid deployment to the consumer?
